Children’s Photography Sessions

Capturing Candid Moments You’ll Love To Remember

Children are quite extraordinary little beings.

Their view of the world is one which a photographer dreams of.

Seeing the tiny little details that we often miss in our daily life.

My motto when it comes to photographing children is…

‘let them be kids’.

What To Expect From Your Children’s Shoot

A session filled with fun, games and hopefully lots of laughter and silliness.

I promise it will not be awkward or boring and the kids will have a blast. I will be giving you guys some directions, but for the most part, I will let the kids lead the way.

This is how the real magic happens. Don’t worry, we will always make time for a quick snack or comfort break.

How Will I Receive My Photos?

Once I’ve had time to edit your photographs (this takes me around 2 weeks depending on how busy it is), I will send you a link to your online gallery where you will be able to view all of the best photographs from our shoot.

Depending on the package you have purchased, you will receive a minimum of 15 images.

Our baby/toddler/child is very vivacious, what if we cannot get any photographs?

I will always get some photographs!! It has happened that a baby has refused to smile throughout. I have had vivacious children, happy children, not so happy children, and you know what common denominators all these shoots have?

We always get something. So don’t worry too much mum & dad, I like to let the vivacious ones lead the shoots. They are the ones that make the most beautiful images.

Kids are natural performers, most of them love to be the centre of attention so rest assure that they will eventually join in and have fun. Just make sure you have plenty of snacks on hand. No one likes performing on an empty stomach.

What Should We Wear To The Shoot?

The possibilities of outfit ideas are endless. Please be sure to bring a change of clothes to your children’s photoshoot as we will be getting wet, muddy and dirty. Plus, you know the rule with Murphy’s law, they are bound to spill something on that crisp clean white shirt.

The most important thing to consider when dressing for your photoshoot is comfort. If you don’t feel comfortable, chances are you will not look comfortable either.

Colours are an important factor that really help your photographs tie together. Natural fabrics, with natural colours are totally trendy at the moment and look fantastic on camera. You want to avoid big bold logos or big bold patterns as these can be very distracting.

Find a complimenting colour palette that you like and work with it. Mix and match colours. Knits and layers add texture – but make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. If we are having a beach shoot in the afternoon, bring a knit or a thick fluffy blanket in neutral colours, the possibilities are endless. If you run out of ideas, give me a buzz, let’s have a chat – or spend a bit of time looking at Pinterest. You are bound to find plenty of ideas there.
