Maternity Photography Sessions

Capturing Candid Moments You’ll Love To Remember

Maternity is my favourite type of photography.

There is something so beautiful and a little bittersweet about the last few weeks of pregnancy.

The last few moments of the very personal bond between mum and bub, but also so much longing to meet baby earth-side.

What To Expect From Your Maternity Shoot

A session where you feel like the goddess that you are. This session is all about you and your beautiful bump. Maternity sessions are calm and beautiful.

I know that posing in front of the camera does not come naturally to most people, so let me make you feel at ease. I will never ask you to pose in awkward positions, but I will guide you if you need me to.

I try not to take myself too seriously, and I think this reflects in my photoshoots. Most importantly, I promise I will make sure we have fun.

How Will I Receive My Photos?

Once I’ve had time to edit your photographs (this takes me around 2 weeks depending on how busy it is), I will send you a link to your online gallery where you will be able to view all of the best photographs from our shoot.

Depending on the package you have purchased, you will be able to choose and download a minimum of 15 images from your private online gallery.

What Should We Wear To The Shoot?

Your maternity shoot is all about you, and the best part about this? You can make it as casual or as outrageous as you want it to be. Do you want to feel like a queen in a long flowy boho dress? No worries, I’ll put you in touch with a couple of super cool little businesses that hire out epic frocks for this. Are you a more casual sort of person? Jeans and a t-shirt? I love it. You want to show off your belly to the max? Awesome, let’s get you some cool fabrics to play with near the water. The options are endless!

As per always, if we are doing an outdoor shoot with little ones, please be sure to bring a change of clothes as there is always a good chance we will be getting wet, muddy and dirty. Plus, you know the rule with Murphy’s law, they are bound to spill something on that crisp clean white shirt as soon as you walk out of the house.

The most important thing to consider when dressing for your photoshoot is comfort. If you don’t feel comfortable, chances are you will not look comfortable either.

Colours are an important factor that really help your photographs tie together. Natural fabrics, with natural colours are totally trendy at the moment and look fantastic on camera.
You want to avoid big bold logos or big bold patterns as these can be very distracting.

Find a complimenting colour palette that you like and work with it. Mix and match colours. Knits and layers add texture – but make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. If we are having a beach shoot in the late afternoon, bring a knitted jumper that compliments your outfit – it is hard to be happy when you are cold.

If you run out of ideas, give me a buzz, let’s have a chat – or spend a bit of time looking at Pinterest. You are bound to find plenty of ideas there.
